Tools To Add Tweeter To WordPress
I have been a big fan of Twitter Tools by Alex King for as long as I have been creating tweets from my blog posts. It has yet to give me any problems. I have seen other plug-ins but really haven’t wanted to try them. If you are using a different plug-in to create your tweets and would like to comment about it, please do.
I’ve decided to try the create blog posts from tweets feature to evaluate how is works. I have it set to create a daily post at 8:00pm. I figure that should make for a good recap of the day’s tweets. Again, if you are using something other than Twitter Tools and absolutely love it, please let me know about it.
Seesmic Desktop Get Sybil Stamp of Approval
Some others have referred to me as the Sybil of Twitter, because I have (and actively use) a number of Twitter accounts for various reasons, like keeping business, politics and persoanl stuff seperate.
Although the Seesmic Desktop had been suggested to me just a little while back, I was hesitant to download yet another application for Twitter. I needed an app that can handle my multiple Twitter accounts. Twhirl seemed to be the answer for me, but I really liked how TweetDeck is laid out. Unfortunately, TweetDeck can’t handle my multiple personalities.
So today, I decided to give Seesmic Desktop a run. I’m not trying to push any limits with it yet, I want to get comfortable with it first. So far I have 5 accounts set up. I like how I can drag each account into the desktop window. But what really caught my eye was how it “knew” which personality I was sharing from. I have on occasion, sent out a political tweet into my business user name. Makes me wonder if deleting a tweet really works. My next favorite feature is the “Home” panel. All of my account tweets go into this panel, sort of a running total.
Decided to watch the Preview after using the app for most of the day. It pretty much says everything I’ve just covered.
Lightbox, Gallery2 & WordPress
Seems I can get Lightbox to work on some of the WordPress sites I have configured. But for some reason, it’s not wanting to cooperate on this one. I need to dig a little deeper or find something better. I’m open to suggestion.
Something else along the quirky lines that I need to check into – getting Gallery2 to “embed” into WordPress. It’s working for this site but I’m having issues with it on one of my other sites. By “embed”, I’m referring to Gallery2 taking the look & feel of the WordPress blog. Unusually, it’s just the header & footer. Thoughts are welcome on this too.
