I’ve been rather busy installing and updating other’s WordPress installs that I have neglected the Test Zone.
More About Google Analytics
I stumbled across what I consider to be one the best new features of the made over Google Analytics – the easy ability to export and/or email reports. Within the redesigned Dashboard are two link buttons – Export and Email. You can export either a PDF or an XML file. You can email four file formats PDF, XML, CSV, or TSV. I will admit I had to go “google” TSV to learn that it is a Tab Separated Values file. And I thought it would be something exciting.
So if you haven’t already, go set yourself up a Google Analytics account.
YouTube
If you have not tried uploading a video clip to YouTube, you should. It’s incredible simple, just create an account and follow the directions. My first attempt was a simple little clip I did in San Francisco while I was on the other side of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics has been installed. I figure it’s going to be fairly slow since this is just more of a test site.
Gallery update
I’ve run into a little configuration speed bump for Gallery2. It probably won’t be addressed until Monday. A Google Site map plug-in has been added. I should see how it responds to a new post.
Gallery and other items.
I think I may play with Gallery2, it seems to have a plugin for WordPress.
I also need to find a Google Sitemap plugin.
And I should add Google Analytics to this too.
Gallery RSS challenge
The next challenge is to find out why I can’t get the Gallery RSS feed to work.
Color me stupid
The calendar fix was right under my nose – in the options. And I was digging in the code…
Calendar
I’m going to have to find what controls the calendar display – I prefer Sunday through Saturday.
.htaccess
Looks like .html trumps .php on this site. Will have to go rename the current index.html before anyone can even see what I’m doing. Come to find out there is no .htaccess in place on this domain.
